The FF130E Recessed Light Draft Stop Cover is a fire resistant enclosure specifically designed to protect your light fixture from insulation in the attic and to stop unwanted air leakage through your recessed light.

The FF130E has been tested in accordance with UL1598 for usage with IC and Non-IC rated recessed lights (see installation instructions for maximum lamp wattage and types).

Most recessed lights are not compatible with insulation and often start cycling on and off after being buried in cellulose, foam or fiberglass — a safety hazard. Pushing the insulation away is not an effective solution, since it creates air passages in the building envelope and wastes energy. Recessed lights account for up to 50% of the total thermal losses of a ceiling; with improved airtightness and continuous insulation, end users see significant energy savings.

The FF130E fits in seconds and requires no assembly or special tools. The flange on the bottom of the enclosure provides an improved seal and enhanced draft-stopping, while the slightly oval, dome-shaped design fits smoothly in a 16-inch on-centre joist space and keeps combustible insulation, such as blown-in cellulose, safely away from the hot light.
